Taean Coast National Park, established in 1978, spans approximately 326.86 square kilometers along the western coast of South Korea in Chungcheongnam-do Province. The park is renowned for its rugged coastline featuring sandy beaches, tidal flats, steep cliffs, and numerous islands, including the famous Anmyeondo Island. It protects a unique blend of coastal ecosystems, such as mudflats which serve as critical habitats for migratory birds and rich marine biodiversity. The park is home to various rare and endangered species, including the black-faced spoonbill and diverse shellfish populations.
